Registration Still Open for the Brent Bays Foundation's 1st Annual 5k Run/Walk -- Volunteer Meeting Set for May 12

There is still time to register for the Brent Bays Foundation's 5k Run/Walk and Bases for Brent. In fact, participants are invited to register right up to the start of the event on race day, May 16th. This event is in honor of Gardner resident, Brent Bays, and his personal battle with cancer. And its purpose is to raise money to help families in and around the Gardner area who have be affected financially by the disease.

Brent is an active member of the Gardner community, and anyone who knows him can tell you there is no place he would rather be than on a baseball field with his family doing something good for the people of this great community. Brent has shown his love for baseball and helping others through his many years of coaching his kids' teams and volunteering in the schools and at church.

The 5k Run/Walk will begin at 8:00am and will be profesionally chip timed. Bases for Brent will begin at 9:00am and is a fun way for children and adults alike to show their support. Round the bases and receive a prize! All registered participants will receive an event t-shirt and goody bag. There will also be refreshments, awards and door prizes, so bring the whole family, show your support for the people of your community, and celebrate life!

ATTENTION VOLUNTEERS! Of course an event such as this wouldn't be possible without the help of those willing to donate their time and energy into making it happen. There will be a meeting Wednesday, May 12th at 6:00pm for ANYONE willing to help with this wonderful cause.
