Boys’ Basketball Team Emerges as Champion

The Blazer Boys’ Basketball team claimed the championship in the Huhtamaki Hardwood Classic by virtue of a 64-55 victory over DeSoto.  The Blazers jumped out to an early lead in the contest.

Tyler Rollwagen led the Blazers with an outstanding effort on both ends of the floor.  He led the Blazers in scoring with 15 points and also contributed 5 rebounds and 2 assists.  Teven McKelvey added 14 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 assists.

Both guards were given all-tournament team honors with McKelvey earning the MVP of the tournament.

The Blazers also dominated the game inside, primarily with the trio of Brody Marshall (10 points/9 rebounds), Luke Soza (9 points/5 rebounds), and Luke Jennings (8 points/2 rebounds).

Tydus Webb battled foul trouble but still managed to spearhead the Blazer defensive charge and lead the team in assists on the tournament.  Cam Trammell added a pair of baskets and a steal to the Blazer cause early in the second quarter to help propel the Blazers to the lead they never relinquished.
