Brownback Gets the Nod for Religious Freedom

Governor Sam Brownback has accepted the appointment by President Trump to be Ambassador at Large for International Religious Freedom with the State Department.

The Governor made the following statement on his Twitter feed regarding the appointment, “Religious Freedom is the first freedom. The choice of what you do with your own soul. I am honored to serve such an important cause.”

State Representative Bill Sutton of the 43rd District supports this nomination enthusiastically. “I wish Governor Brownback all the best in this endeavor.  He is a perfect fit for this ambassadorship.”

If confirmed by the Senate, the role of Governor will be filled by Lieutenant Governor, Dr. Jeff Colyer.  Until that confirmation takes place, Governor Brownback will remain in the Executive Office.
