First Retail Construction Project in 40 Years Breaks Ground


EDGERTON, Kan. – (November 6, 2017) A groundbreaking ceremony for the first new retail construction project in the City of Edgerton in nearly 40 years was held on Saturday. The new 7,500 square-foot Dollar General store will be located at 106 West 3rd Street, just east of the Edgerton Elementary on 56 Highway.

“To have a quality retailer like Dollar General invest in our community is phenomenal,” said Mayor Donald Roberts. “Gaining a new retail store in Edgerton signifies the beginning of the next phase of growth and development within our community.”

Dollar General is a neighborhood general store delivering everyday low prices on name-brand products such as food, snacks, health and beauty aids, as well as cleaning supplies, family apparel, housewares and seasonal items. The Edgerton store is expected to open early spring 2018.
