Former GEHS Trailblazer Shelby Simpson recognized as Blue Key Freshman of the Year at NMSU


Northwest Missouri State University recognizes GEHS Alumni, Shelby Simpson, with the Blue Key Freshman of the Year Award. Simpson was nominated by her sorority, Phi Mu, along with 11 other freshman on campus. The recipient of the award was selected through an interview process on which they reviewed the students organizational involvement, leadership skills, character, scholarship and volunteerism in the NWMSU and Maryville communities. Simpson will receive a scholarship for her upcoming fall trimester.

Simpson has also been awarded the New Member of the Year for the Zeta Lambda Chapter of Phi Mu along with being involved as a Phi Mu Class Delegate, Parent Association Chairman, Ad Ink Member and a Student Mentor through Student Support Services and the TRiO Program. Simpson will also be a Peer Advisor for the University Seminar Class for the fall 2016 trimester.
