Gardner Police respond to armed disturbance early Monday morning


On Monday morning June 6th, 2016, at approx. 12:10 AM, Gardner PD patrol units were dispatched to the 1000 block of Wilderness Trail regarding an armed disturbance.  The calling party reported that a man had been stabbed at that location.

Upon arrival, officers found the victim, described as a black male in his mid-twenties, on the front porch.  He was suffering from stab wounds to his abdomen and an extremity.  He was able to talk to officers, and to provide information on a person of interest in the incident. He was then transported to a local hospital, where he is currently undergoing surgery for his injuries.

At 1:14 AM, Gardner PD patrol units responded to the 300 block of North Pine, where they located the person of interest, described as a black male in his mid-forties, in this matter.  He was taken into custody without incident.  He was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  Detectives are currently interviewing him.

At the time of this release, there is no updated information available on the condition of the victim.

The investigation is ongoing.
