GEHS Choir performs at Carnegie Hall over Spring Break

Over spring break, 42 GEHS Mixed Choir students traveled to New York City to perform at Queens College and Carnegie Hall. At Queens College, the students were adjudicated by three top music college professors from around the United States and received Superior Ratings from all three judges. On March 18, the choir performed at Carnegie Hall in a mass choir event under the direction of nationally-known Conductor Dr. Anton Armstrong with Top Choirs of America Program. The GEHS choir was also selected as a ‘Spotlight’ choir. The concert concluded with a premiere performance of “Credo” by Andre Thomas who also accompanied the Mass Choir on the final selection.

The group also took in notable sights of the city such as the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Wall Street, Time Square, Central Park, United Nations, 911 Memorial, Trinity Cathedral, Radio City Music Hall, and St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
