GEHS Trailblazer Softball sweeps Bishop Miege

Press Release - GEHS Softball

Abby Cox

The Blazers traveled to Bishop Miege last night and swept the Stags!!    It was a night of great pitching, lots of hitting/scoring and great defense!

In the first game, everyone crossed the plate at least once!   Ashlyn Anderson had a great game going 5-5 with 7 RBIs.   Sydney Anderson was hit by the pitch her first two at bats and then went 3-4.   Sydney Deitz (1-4) and Mikala Galvin (3-6)  both hit dingers!      Coach Zerr experienced a “first” last night getting to see a triple play — runners on 1st and 2nd, ball hit to right field — Mikala Galvin makes a great catch (1),  fires the ball to Ashlyn Anderson at 2nd (2), then fires the ball to a full stretched Malibu McIntire at first for the triple play!!!   Abby Cox put 12 strikeouts in the books from the mound to assure the 18-1 win!!

The runs kept coming in game two!   The Blazer defense was error-less behind Hailey Drawbaugh on the mound!  With some patience at the plate and continued hitting, the Blazers scored 12 runs on the Stags in 5 innings!   Cassidy Greer continues to have a hot bat, going 5-8 on the night!!   Game two ended 12-0 for the win!!!

The Varsity Softball team is 10-4 going into the end of the regular season!!  We have one more away double header next week against Desoto and then the girls will be HOME for you to enjoy!!!   We play on the 5th and 10th!!    Come on out– the girls are fun to watch!!!!     May 10th is Senior Night and we will be recognizing Sydney Anderson and Hailey Drawgbaugh for the hard work they have put into the softball program!!!
