GEHS Trailblazer Track & Field Updates for 4/8/16

Traiblazer Girls Track and Field team made a very good showing last Friday at the Olathe meet placing 2nd in the 10 team field behind Olathe East.

Cortlyn Tryon was 4th in 4×1, 3rd in 4×4, 2nd in 400, and 1st in 200.

The Blazers had impressive PRs from Cassidy Androff in shot and Karli Smith in vault, with a season best in javelin by Heather Culbertson, all winning silver for the Blazers.

Abby Buie collected bronze in pole vault and javelin as did fellow senior and Abbie (Lane) in the 300 hurdles. Other medalists were Cassidy Androff in discus, Larissa Weidler, Haylei Bell and Miranda Tenove in the 4×4 relay.

Friday night the Boys T&F team placed 5th out of 9 teams, amassing 81 team points. This was a marked improvement from the previous week at SMS Relays. From last Thursday’s JV meet to Friday’s varsity meet, the boys compiled 42 personal records.
