GERP members will again be in front of the Gardner Price Chopper collecting food for the local pantries. Collection starts on Thursday, June 7th at 4:00pm and will extend through all day Friday, June 8th and Saturday, June 9th.
Everything we collect goes to the Gardner-Edgerton Multi-Service Center and the Edgerton Food Panty helping local people in our communities.
Come by Price Chopper and pick a few non-perishable items. We’ll have the grocery bags available with a list attached of the items currently needed. No glass containers please.
Summer is a tough time for pantries. Food supplies are low and, with the kids being out of school, the demand is high for nutritious food items. Please don’t forget that certain personal hygiene items are always in demand and not usually available in the pantries. Since this event was started over four years ago this organization has collected over 10,000 lbs. of non-perishable food items for our local pantries. Let’s add another 3,000 lbs. to that total.
The Food Drive is just one of the ways GERP gives back to our communities. Help them help those in need. Please find below a list of items currently needed in the pantries
