The Gardner-Edgerton Republican Party hosted a special guest this month. President of the Senate and candidate for US Senate Susan Wagle spoke to the group, discussing the goings on in the state legislature and making her case to be the Republican candidate for the senate seat opening with the retirement of Sen Pat Roberts.
“I’ve consistently fought to reign in big government in Topeka, even when it wasn’t popular amongst the establishment. I’m ready to do the same in Washington.”
GERP Chairman, Ementi Coary had this to say about the visit, “Susan Wagle has a wealth of experience in the state House and Senate. She is a proven fighter, surviving cancer and being the first woman elected to serve as the President of the Senate in Kansas. I respect that kind of strength.”
Wagle relayed stories of several battles she’s been involved with, including being a freshman pro-life Republican in the Kansas House when abortion money was funding a majority of the legislature. She even took a little jab at “The Squad” of freshman legislators who currently seem to have a strong influence on the House agenda.
“We need to send a proven conservative leader to DC that will fight for Kansas values while fighting against socialism.”
