For the second year in a row, the Grand Slam Beer, Wine and Spirits Fest is a huge success. Thirteen wineries, six breweries, and new this year, three distilleries gathered to provide taste samples to a sold out crowd of one thousand people.
Jason Camis, President & CEO of the Gardner Edgerton Chamber of Commerce, credits the Gardner Parks & Rec staff with the success of this year’s event, “Last year, we didn’t know what to expect and sold out 800 tickets. This year, we added distilleries, a few other vendors and increased the number of tickets to 1000.” All 1000 tickets were sold in advance.
The cooler, slightly damp weather didn’t dampen spirits. Instead, it opened the door to another feature…s’mores! This idea, Mr. Camis takes credit for.
A previous posting of this article failed to recognize the Gardner Parks & Rec staff for this achievement. That omission has been corrected.
