Johnson County Sheriff’s Office assisting with fugitive stand off in Olathe

The Ks. Fugitive Apprehension Task Force, consisting of US Marshal’s service, Kansas Dept of Corrections, Overland Park Police Dept, Wyandotte County Sheriff’s Office, and Immigration Customs Enforcement along with the Career Criminal squad which is made up of US Marshals, KCMOPD, ATF and FBI, developed information that Carlos Gonzalez, a 21 year old male, was at a specific address in an Olathe neighborhood. Gonzalez has multiple felony warrants.

When the Task Force attempted to make contact, Gonzalez barricaded himself in the house. The Task Force requested assistance from Johnson County Law Enforcement, and members of the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office Warrant’s unit, tactical team, and the Olathe Police and Fire Departments responded.

Officers are currently on scene attempting to safely resolve this incident.
