The Brent Bays Foundation: Volunteers Supporting Local Family in Time of Need

Brent Bays & family at Relay for Life

The Brent Bays Foundation, Inc. is an organization of volunteers whose purpose is to raise money for individuals in and around the Gardner, Kansas area who have been financially impacted by a battle with cancer. The Brent Bays Foundation, Inc. was created in honor of Brent Bays, an active member of the Gardner Community who has coached youth sports for many years. He began his battle with esophageal cancer in 2007, was in remission until 2009, and was recently diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer.

The Brent Bays Foundation, Inc. will host a 5K Run/Walk on Sunday May 16, 2010 at 8:00am. The event will be held at Celebration Park in Gardner, Kansas. After the race, there will be an opportunity for individuals of all ages to participate in "Bases for Brent". Individuals and families can run the bases to support a great cause and a great community!! Proceeds of the foundation will benefit the Bays family and other selected applicants.

On Monday February 8, 2010 Pizza Hut in Gardner hosted a fundraiser for the Brent Bays Foundation, contributing 20% of their profits to the foundation. Although the snow was coming down outside, the Gardner Community showed overwhelming support by keeping Pizza Hut extremely busy all day and night!!
