The Arts Council of Johnson County this week announced the 110 high school seniors nominated for a 2010 Shooting Stars Scholarship. GEHS student Corianne Wells is among the nominees.
The Shooting Stars Recognition, Scholarship & Awards Program celebrates Johnson County high school seniors who excel in the visual, performing and literary arts. Students were nominated by an arts teacher in one of nine categories. The nominees then audition or submit their portfolio before a panel of judges for scholarship consideration.
All nominated students are honored and at the Annual Shooting Stars Gala on March 28 at the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art and Yardley Hall of the Carlsen Center at Johnson County Community College, College Boulevard and Quivira Road. Eighteen scholarship recipients will be announced at the event.
