Prior to the last election a representative of Take Back Gardner (not one of the candidates) knocked on my door. She was very polite and told me that her candidates recognize that the intermodal is going to be built, but they feel the City should negotiate a better deal.

I thought that sounded great. Ultimately, I didn't vote for the Take Back Gardner group, but her statements made me think long and hard about it.

Hindsight being 20/20, that representative must not have known what her candidates true intentions were. (She seemed to nice for me to assume she was lying to me.) There is a HUGE difference between wanting to negotiate a better deal, and what Peters and Shepherd did.

To say the people got what they voted for is not correct. I'm sure that some of the people who voted the TBG ticket got what they voted for, but I'm also sure some got duped.

I guess we'll find out on March 2nd.

I have taken exception to the articles about who voted and who did not. I voted for Fotovich, Peterson, Thompson, and Shepherd in the last election. I was worried about having common sense on the Intermodal and wanted to have that sensible approach. Boy was I wrong. If you must know I voted for the Intermodal because it was coming regardless and Gardner could have a say. Now I am voting again against Peters and Shepherd because I beleive they went against the will of the people and were underhanded in their approach. Voting is a privilege and honor and I wish more people had voted but it is what is and hopefully people have learned their lessons.....maybe politicians will learn as well that it is the people who put them in office and it is people who will vote them out when they do not listen.

REALLY!!! I was told to check out this web page and WOW! this is the town I now live in? "doesnt matter" has it right, but did the people really get what they expected? BNSF will build it, "they"(tax producers) will come and Gardner won't see even a 1/16 of the tax revenue that would have been possible, you fools! Are you ignorant or just stupid.

Glad to see that Paul Jones is man enough to write his name and doesn't have to hide behind made up names.

You must really be proud of your vote, "no name", considering you never do tell who you are. Maybe it's time to re-evaluate your position on this matter.

Be Proud...VOTE TO RECALL crooked city coucil members :)

if they are recalled or not, the intermodel deal is already completely screwed up. But because they campaigned on "getting rid of the intermodel" the people got what they elected, which is surprising.

To: "I have ALREADY VOTED wrote on 2/12/2010 7:16 am and it was a big fat NO."

I haven't seen the mail-in ballot. Tell me, does it actually offer different sizes for NO votes? Does a big fat NO count more than the more slender NO?

Are larger size YES selections also offered? I would want to be certain that all voters fully understand their options so that their choices are counted fairly and accurately.

I had planned to vote in person at the election office, but maybe I had better call first to see what size votes could be cast on their electronic devices.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

I heard Larry Fotovich is gonna ask for a recall wrote on 2/12/2010 9:16 am

He thinks the 2006 election was too close to count.

the mail does not work that fast...not even for you

Well, figure it out Paul Jones wrote on 2/12/2010 8:39 am

or have Beasley or one of your other co-horts draw the picture for you.

Just wanting to know how you already voted...yesterday would of been 20 days pryor...

Troll is stuck on word, slimy. Can't think straight. Troll need more food.

I have ALREADY VOTED wrote on 2/12/2010 6:16 am

and it was a big fat NO. I just wish I could vote on what should happen to the Beasley lynch mob and their silent rotten political co-horts such as Drovetta who won't even meet campaign finance laws. The town could get slimier and probably will but it has been in the gutter for some time now.

I can't wait to cast my vote to recall them!
