Andrew Hurd, 16 and a junior at GEHS, died in yesterday's accident at 159th & Four Corners. He is the son of Jim & Kim Hurd of Gardner. Services are pending at Bruce Funeral Home.

Andrew was on the GEHS soccer team and in the orchestra. His friends are remembering him on his Facebook page.

The occupants of the other vehicle were James Crainshaw and Daron James Crainshaw, also Gardner residents. Both are still hospitalized.

The accident investigation is ongoing. At this time, they have no reason to believe that excessive speed was involved.

Our hearts go out to both of these families at this difficult time.

We have returned home from Andrew's celebration of his life. This was an amazing way to honor such an incredible person. Andrew touched our family in so many amazing ways it is hard to put into words. We are all hurting so deeply right now but I know for all of us to live our life to the fullest, tell the people in your life you love them and always remember Andrews infectious smile. He was such a positive influence in our childrens lives so much so I know when Alyssa said Andrew was going I knew things would be fine so, I hope now that the kids will stop and remember "what would Andrew say or do" and carry on his incredible compassion, positive attitude and find God.
Our prayers our with everyone grieving but especially his family I can't find the words but I can pray.

We are so sorry to hear about this. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Hurd Family. We have such great memories from his soccer days in Kennesaw and the close friendship he had with Sebastian.

Andrew I know you are in the presence of Jesus. Lord be the refuge and fortress of the Hurd Family in this moment. "I'm the resurrection and the life .He who believes in me will live, even though he dies" John 11;25

Andrew was such an example. Sweet, kind, humble and his faith was strong.
I know he is in the presence of Jesus.
