Christmas in August

While most families are thinking about back to school schedules and fall sports, Mayor Drovetta is getting a jump start on the annual Christmas for Children Program. Today, Mark Sanner, Manager of the Gardner Wal Mart, presented Mayor with a $1,000 check to help fund the Children’s Christmas program for 2010. Wal Mart along with many other generous Gardner residents and businesses are dedicated supporters of this annual event.
In the past years this program has been organized by the Gardner Multi Service Center and local volunteers. This year the Multi Service Center will no longer assist with this community project. Mayor Drovetta knows this is a huge need for our community and wanted to be sure the program continued. Tana Johnson and Margaret Drovetta will be spearheading the effort to assure those area kids in need will have presents under the tree.
More information will be provided to the community on how residents can volunteer or assist with the annual program in early October.
