Hanging up the trophies, belt buckles and ribbons, the Johnson County Horse Club 4-H’ers succeeded at the Johnson County Fair in Gardner, Kansas and are getting ready for the Kansas State Fair in Hutchison, Kansas.

Grace Freeman was crowned Rodeo Princess, Natalie McCracken was crowned alternate Princess and Jennet Shelton was crowned Rodeo Queen Monday night at the coronation.

The club was well represented in the rabbit barn. Brynn McCracken won the Reserve Champion demonstration speech. Grady Allen won Reserve Champion Jr. Showmanship in cattle and won second in his Heifer class. He later won the Jr. Showmanship in sheep. Logan Allen won the Intermediate Showmanship in the cattle project and won second in the Overall Heifer class. Anna Long won the Intermediate Showmanship in the sheep project and also won the Overall Grand Drive. Later Anna, Logan and Grady participated in the Round Robin Friday night, and had a blast! I guess training horses and dogs go together because we did awesome at the dog show and the horse show and won in almost all the classes!

This is just a fraction of the wins and the fun that our club had at Fair and we are all looking forward to State!
