Last night's 8th grade JV football game started off well at Spring Hill for the Mustangs but in the end they could not hold on for the win. The Mustangs began the game running wild on the Mavericks with long runs by Devon Gulley and Nathan Oathout ending the first quarter with a score of 6-0. The defense also held strong with great plays by Eric Hopper, Derek Ruddy, and Austin Murphy who held the Mavericks to zero points in the first half. However, the Mavericks came out in the second half strong and overtook the lead late in the third quarter and won the game 6-20. Overall, the Mustangs played well but definitely have some things to work on for next week against the Louisburg Wildcats.
