Sheriff Frank Denning Receives Diversity Advocate in Law Enforcement Award

Olathe, Kan. - Sheriff Frank Denning received the Diversity Advocate in Law Enforcement Award during the 8th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Legacy and Scholarship Awards Dinner on January 16, 2012.
Sheriff Frank Denning was recognized for his actions as Sheriff and over his many years in law enforcement which reflect the spirit of Martin Luther King Jr. through diversity and equality in the law enforcement community and the Johnson County Sheriff's Office. Henry E. Lyons, President of the Olathe Unit of the NAACP said, "Sheriff Denning has proven throughout his career in law enforcement that he believes people should be treated equally and fairly. The Johnson County Sheriff's Office is a model of diversity."
Sheriff Denning said, "I am grateful for and humbled by this award. But, more than that, I am proud to represent the men and women of the Johnson County Sheriff's Office who work so hard every day to do the right things for the right reasons and make 'Equal Protection Under the Law' a reality for everyone in our community."
The ceremony was sponsored by the Martin Luther King, Jr. Legacy and Scholarship Awards Committee along with the Olathe, Kansas, branch of the NAACP.
