If you’re trying to get your garage straightened up in preparation for winter, you will want to take advantage of the household hazardous waste & electronic recycling event offered by Johnson County on Saturday, October 14 from 8:00 am to 11:30 am. This is the last scheduled Saturday event this year.
Please note that this is the first year that electronic waste recycling will occur at a separate location. Note: Appointments are still required for HHW drop offs.
Household Hazardous Waste (HHW): Safely dispose of your unwanted paint, stains, and other household chemicals including, automotive, lawn and garden, household cleaners, pool chemicals and much more. This is a free service for Johnson County residents and is BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Please make an appointment online.
Electronic Recycling: Johnson County has partnered with Secure e-Cycle to provide electronic recycling. Secure e-Cycle, at 3052 S. 24th St. in Kansas City, KS will accept any item with a cord except items that contain Freon and large appliances. If you miss this event, they are open Monday-Friday from 9am-3:30pm. There is NO APPOINTMENT necessary to drop off your material. They also accept paper for secure shredding.
