Seeking Nominations for “Citizen of the Year” & “Business of the Year” for Gardner & Edgerton
The “Citizen of the Year” and “Business of the Year” awards are the highest civic recognition presented to an individual and a business in Gardner & Edgerton. They signify excellence in community and corporate relations and a commitment to community above all else.
“Citizen of the Year” nominees would have made a noteworthy contribution to the Gardner or Edgerton communities during the previous year and/or over a number of years. This individual shall be a resident of Gardner or Edgerton; demonstrated a commitment to community by their work or volunteer service; serve as a role model for others; and be of high ethical and moral standards. Chamber board members and sitting elected officials are not eligible.
“Business of the Year” nominees would have similar traits as above. They shall be located in Edgerton, Gardner or New Century; demonstrated excellence in business by their exemplary customer service, revenue growth, addition of jobs, etc.; supported the community economically or through the use of volunteers; and generally improved the quality of life in the region. Government entities and nonprofits are not eligible.
Self-nominations will be accepted. Nominees and winners DO NOT have to be members of the Gardner Edgerton Chamber of Commerce. Finalists will be selected in April 2016. The winners will be recognized at the Gardner Edgerton Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner on Tuesday, May 3rd at Mildale Farm in Edgerton.
