Angelo H. Miño, 60, of Lenexa, Kansas, passed April 30, 2019. A service will be held at the Gardner Masonic Lodge 105 ½ S. Elm Gardner, Kansas on Saturday May 4th. Visitation from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm with Masonic Funeral Rites at 3:30 pm. Memorial donations may be made to the Angelo Miño Scholarship Fund and mailed to PO Box 579 Gardner, Kansas 66030. Angelo was born to his father Gen. Gribaldo Miño-Tapia and mother Angela in Ecuador. He married the love of his life Maria Eugenia Miño Vega and they later relocated the family to the United States, ultimately ending up in Lenexa, Kansas. Together they raised three daughters whom he leaves as his legacy: Grace Gettino (Andre), Doris Hiatt (Kevin), Ivette Powers (Alex). Angelo was also an extremely proud Grandfather “ Papo” to five Granddaughters, his princesses: Enaam (Jeff), Hanna, Emily, Savannah, and Ashlyn.
His family remembers him as patriot, a mentor to many, a devoted Catholic, a true family man, and a proud Freemason. Angelo was always ready to help anyone in need and can be best remembered for his iconic bowties and the frequently used, “Born in Ecuador, Made in America”.
Angelo was an Executive Director for EARP Distribution Inc. and was passionate about affecting the most positive change in people in both his professional and personal life. Helping kids was one of his biggest passions and he showed that by being ‘Billy the bullwhacker’ and Mr. Wise, one of the school programs he created. Angelo was a 32nd Degree Freemason but had many affiliations in various groups; Some of which include: Past Master of Lenexa Masonic Lodge No. 35, as well as Junior Deacon at Gardner Masonic Lodge No. 65, and a member of Overland Park Masonic Lodge No. 436. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Shawnee, KS, the Traditional Martinist Order, Kiwanis, Shriners, York Rite and a proud and active member of the Republican party, and more.
