Colton Bryce Jensen, age 30, of Gardner, KS, formerly of Manhattan, KS, and Ocean View, DE, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 27, 2019, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, MD.
He was born in Manhattan, KS, on March 5, 1989, son of Richard (Rick) Jensen and Regina (Gina) Davidson. Colton graduated from Indian River High School Class of 2007, in Dagsboro, DE. He attended Delaware Technical Community College in Georgetown, DE, and Highland Community College in Wamego, KS.
Colton loved to meet new people and was a friend to everyone he encountered. His infectious smile and personality served him well in his positions in the food service industry, most recently as a bartender at Silo Modern Farmhouse in Lenexa, KS. He walked through life at his own pace, but always with laughter and good will.
Colton enjoyed surfing, skateboarding, golfing, disc golf, and music. He was also an avid sports fan with a particular love for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Colton was united in marriage with Olga Kryvolutska on July 12, 2008. They later separated. On October 18, 2015, Colton and Audrey Cooper welcomed the birth of their son Aldous. Colton will be remembered as a devoted father who loved spending time with family. He loved with his whole heart.
Colton was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Bryce Davidson and paternal grandfather, Carroll Jensen. Colton is survived by his son, Aldous Cooper; his mother, Gina Davidson of Manhattan, KS; his father, Rick Jensen and his wife, Regina of Selbyville, DE; maternal grandmother, Rose Pritchard and her husband, Bruce Holladay of Manhattan, KS, and paternal grandmother, Margaret Jensen of Manhattan, KS. Colton is also survived by his four siblings, Cody Jensen and his wife, Ashley, of Roeland Park, KS, Chase Ricketts and his significant other Kyra McCubbin of Solon, IA, Katelyn Jensen of Selbyville, DE, and Conner Jensen of Selbyville, DE, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
In keeping with Colton’s spirit and love of sports, attendees at either service are encouraged to wear Kansas City Chiefs, K-State Wildcats, or KC Royals apparel. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 10th, at First Congregational United Church of Christ with Reverend Caela Simmons Wood officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday, September 9th, at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home. Inurnment will occur at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Colton Jensen Memorial Fund to benefit his son Aldous or to the Atlantic General Hospital Foundation, Berlin, MD, where he received excellent care. Contributions may be left in care of the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, 1616 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, KS 66502.
