Jane “Janie” Ann Wyckoff, 68, of Gardner, KS passed away April 1, 2017 at Olathe Medical Ctr. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 am Fri., April 7, 2017 at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 555 W. Main, Gardner, KS. Burial follows at St. Columbia Catholic Cemetery. Visitation 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thur., April 6, 2017 at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, KS (913) 856-7111. Rosary at 8:00 pm. Janie was born March 16, 1949 in Kansas City, KS to Jessie Jane (Utz) and Alfred L. Breitenstein, Sr. She grew up in Kansas City, KS where she graduated from Bishop Ward High School. Janie attended Emporia State Univ. She married Robert “Bob” Wyckoff on Jan. 30, 1976 in Miami, OK. They moved to the Gardner Lake area following their marriage. She worked as an aide for the Gardner Edgerton School District for 20 plus years. Janie also worked for the Johnson County Library in Gardner. She was a member of Divine Mercy Catholic Church and Happy Spirits EHU. Janie loved to read and garden. Her biggest joy was her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Janie is survived by her husband, Bob, of the home; children: Mark Wyckoff and wife Trisha, Arkansas City, KS, Jennifer Best, Overland Park, KS and Matthew Wyckoff and wife Roberta, Wellsville, KS; eight grandchildren: Bailey, Zoe, JJ, Hailey, Esa, Shay, Ian and Lane; siblings: Rusty Breitenstein, Bentonville, AR, Alfred Breitenstein, II, Gardner, KS, Francie Locke, Gardner, KS and Nancy Sirridge, Basehor, KS; many nieces and nephews and her special four-legged companion, “Max.”
