Keith Franklin Bones, 61, of Edgerton, KS passed away September 30, 2017 at his home. Memorial Service will be 10:30 am Fri., Oct. 6, 2017 at Fellowship Bible Church, 16900 Waverly Rd, Gardner, KS 66030 with a reception following service. Keith was born May 10, 1956 in Wichita, KS to Lester and Myrtle Bones. He married Cindy on November 12, 1976 in Ottawa, KS. They moved to Gardner in 1981 where they purchased and renovated their home on Main Street. In 1997, they purchased property in Edgerton and built their current home. Keith started his telephony career as a cable splicer with Contel Telephone Co. and then went on to work for Sprint and Ericsson in management for the next 38 years. During this time he made some of his closest friends and he was fortunate enough to travel the world with them. Keith was a great carpenter, mechanic, electrician and musician with the Moonlight Road Band. He enjoyed traveling, golfing, hunting, tinkering around on his tractor and shopping (he was known to his granddaughter, Riyn, as “The Buyer”). Keith’s family values were of the utmost importance to him. Planning family vacations and new adventures were one of his big treats. He will be missed by family and friends.
Keith was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife of the home; daughter, Jacquelyn Brouhard and husband Chad of Paola, KS; son, Aaron Bones and wife Kelly of Olathe, KS; granddaughter, Riyn; grandson, Amos; mother, Myrtle I. Bones of Gardner, KS; brother, Ken Bones and wife Gayle of Gardner, KS and sisters: Jeanette Matney of Gardner, KS and Mary Guyll and husband Fred of Independence, MO.
