Marilyn graduated from Morris High School in the Bronx at age 16 in 1935. Although she was offered a scholarship to Lincoln University, she was unable to attend; she remained in New York working at the Flower Fifth Avenue Hospital.

While raising her family, Marilyn studied art and became a prolific artist in many mediums. She exhibited works in regional expositions, was commissioned to paint murals and other art work, and taught art classes on a volunteer basis. At various times, she was involved in many civic groups including the Speaker’s Club, the Art League, the League of Woman Voters, the church Vestry, and the Design and Planning Committee for the Regional Technical School. She worked for Teradyne as an Electronic Technician for 25 years; retiring in 1988. Marilyn enjoyed traveling and over the years visited four continents and the Arctic Circle. Marilyn moved to Johnson County in 2006 where she attended the De Soto United Methodist Church. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.
