Michael Wayne Roach, Sr., 73, Spring Hill, Kansas passed away at his home Sunday, May 12, 2019. Inurnment will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2019 with Military Honors at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, Kansas. Mike was born July 7, 1945 in Omaha, Nebraska to Avalon Dee and Ida Muriel (Durbin) Roach. Mike grew up in Nebraska and graduated from Omaha Public School in 1964. After high school, Mike served in the United States Air Force. He lived in Michigan before moving to Kansas. Mike owned and operated his own window washing business, Nation Wide Window Cleaning. On April 1, 1996 in Olathe, Kansas, Mike married Dorothy M. Reed. They moved to Spring Hill, Kansas in 2005. Mike dearly loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He always wanted what was best for people. He was involved in the VFW and American Legion in Olathe and Overland Park. Mike liked to spend his spare time fishing, playing Bingo and board games, shooting pool and playing poker. Mike enjoyed gambling and loved the races, especially horse and dog races. He was a dedicated Nebraska Huskers fan and Mike’s favorite baseball team was the Yankees. Family members remember Mike as a prankster and the laughs he got from playing tricks on others.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Leonard Roach, Neal Roach and Patricia Roach. He is survived by his wife Dorothy of the home; children: Michael W. Roach, Jr., Sheila Roach Sheets, Heather Roach Couture (Chris), Paula Roach Strong, Gabriel Roach, Elisha Bauerly and Elizabeth Bauerly; siblings Richard Roach (Terry) and Sharon Paruszkeivez; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and sister-in-laws Elaine Roach and Patsy Roach.
