Nancy was born May 14, 1947 in Norton, KS to John E. Wolf, Jr. and Jessie E. (Joy) Wolf. She graduated from Norton High School in 1965 and moved to Salina, KS to attend Brown Mackie Business School. Nancy worked in an insurance office for several years where she met Dean when he came in to obtain car insurance on his 1964 Austin Healy Sprite convertible. Whether she loved him or the car first, she would never admit, but whichever it was they later married on June 25, 1967 in Salina, KS. She spent most of her career working as the Victim/Witness Coordinator for the Saline County Attorney’s Office and especially enjoyed working with and as an advocate for youth victims of crime. In 2014, Nancy and Dean moved to Spring Hill, KS to be closer to their son and his family and became active members of First Christian Church in Olathe.

Family and friends described her as “a bright light”, “very loving”, “a good friend” and have regularly remarked about her smile and laugh. Nancy shared these qualities with others as a Sunday School teacher, a Cub Scout Den Mother, a life member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 1432 and as an active member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority in Salina. Nancy loved to dance and was a huge country music fan. Conway Twitty and George Strait were her favorite singers, and before the internet, Nancy often camped out with friends at the Bicentennial Center several days in advance for front row tickets. Wherever she was at and whatever she was doing, she enjoyed life.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Russell Wolf. She is survived by her husband of the home; son, Darren and wife Jenny of Olathe, KS; brothers: Ernest Wolf of Gardner, KS and Roger Wolf of Salina, KS and was a proud grandma to Gavin and Adrian.
