Norma was born Jan. 5, 1948 to George Arthur and Mary (Mann) Stan. She grew up in Lawrence and moved to De Soto in 1966 to live with her sister where she graduated from De Soto High School. Norma married Kenneth E. Bedford on March 31, 1967 in De Soto, KS. She worked for Western Electric after high school and then finished out her working career at the Sunflower Army Ordinance Plant in the Property Accounting Dpt. for 20 years; retiring in 2002. Norma was always laughing and the most giving person you could ever meet. She was a spectacular cook. Norma was very creative—especially with flower gardens and holiday decorations. Above all, she was the best grandma (Nana), mom and wife anyone could hope for. She will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Norma is survived by her husband, Kenneth, of the home; son, Kent A Bedford, Lenexa, KS; daughter, Kelly J. and husband Mark S. McNeel, Blue Springs, MO; grandson, Kenneth P. Seligman, Blue Springs, MO; beloved grand dog, Abby; siblings: Rosemary McAninch, De Soto, KS, JoAnn Seele, CO, George Stan, Lansing, KS, Virginia Marshall, Eudora, KS, Viola Kelley, Wichita, KS, Michael Stan, Lawrence, KS; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
