Richard Kyle Semler was born to Harry and Violet Semler May 7, 1940 in Kansas City, Missouri. He married Frances Barbara Caldwell June 29, 1989. Richard retired from the Kansas City Star after 30 years of service and then started his own home remodeling business, Sir Richard’s Remodeling & Repair. His hobbies were flying his airplane, cars and beekeeping. He loved woodworking, cabinet making and creating furniture for his home. When Richard and Fran got married the city boy suddenly became a farmer on his mother-in-law’s farm and pumpkin patch.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and son, Richard Semler, Jr. He leaves his wife, Frances, of the home; brother, Ronald of Centerview, MO; sister, Laurel (Tom) Bray of Raytown, MO; son, Robin Semler of Riverside, MO; niece, Cynthia (Kyle) Bradley of Raytown, MO and nephew, Arnold Bennett of Raytown, MO; daughter, Daryle (Rick) Heldenbrand and grandson, Ryan Heldenbrand of Lee’s Summit, MO and his little dog “Angel”.
