Edge reader GardnerEDGE achieves 2,000,000 page views prior to first year anniversary.
The GardnerEDGE officially rolled out on February 17, 2009. Our 1st anniversary is only days away. We've hit a major milestone. GardnerEDGE readers have now viewed over 2 million individual pages on this site. We are very pleased to have hit this milestone and thank you, the readers, for honoring our site with your attention.

We recognize that there are many news options available to our readers. You can find news on-line, in print, over the air, and in the aisle of the grocery store from your friends and neighbors. Hopefully some of the news you've been hearing in the store, has had its source in GardnerEDGE.

We have built a news and information site that focuses upon Gardner, Edgerton and New Century. Our goal is to bring you timely, accurate news that is separated from political or editorial bias. We of course have editorial positions and you can find them clearly identified as Opinion on our site. We also welcome letters to the editor to be posted on the site.

We thank our advertisers for their choice to advertise in GardnerEDGE. The 2,000,000 page views are very good news for them as well.

In our effort to provide a service that informs the community and provides effective advertising space we encourage you to keep reading GardnerEDGE. We invite you to submit photos, stories, and tips to us. A formal press release is nice, but not necessary. If we know about it, we can inform all of our readers.

Thanks again for your readership. We appreciate it more than you can know!

Happy Birthday, GardnerEDGE!! What a breath of fresh air you have been for the citizens of Southwest Johnson County.

Your timely offering of local and regional news, coverage of school athletics and events, obits, community and church announcements, local businesses, government and school district services, as well as editorial commentary and opinions has served Gardner and Edgerton well.

Your provision for free-flowing comments to each published article has fostered a healthy exchange of views and ideas on the events and issues facing our communities. I think we have all noticed our area's residents becoming more knowledgeable about and engaged with the challenges confronting our local governing bodies and our school district. I hope that this will help translate to a larger and wiser assembly of registered voters participating in future elections, beginning with the March 2 referendum.

Congratulations on a successful first year. Best wishes for a continuously growing readership and an expanding pocketbook. As American writer A. J. Liebling said years ago, "The function of the press in society is to inform, but its role in society is to make money."

This is an awesome source of information. Prior to the EDGE, we really did not have any legitmate source of real time news.

You should be proud of what you have done.

I think you are real pioneers in what community news should be.

Congrats! wrote on 2/9/2010 10:34 am

That's a lot of traffic from a community our size.

Thank YOU! wrote on 2/9/2010 7:04 am
