School reveals new football helmet logo
Posted on Aug. 2nd, 2010
Gardner Edgerton High School revealed its new Blazer football helmet logo on Monday.
The ox silhouette is gone, but the horns remain on either side of the school’s initials, “GE.” The new logo will make its first appearance in the fall football season.
School officials will keep the main school logo, an ox pulling a wagon, which is now on the school’s gymnasium floor. The new logo is just for football helmets right now, school officials said.

As a fan and parent of a player all the boy's I have talked to really like the logo and it seems the coaching staff is excited about it also, so Blazer Fan maybe we should just be supportive, if you don't like it then don't wear it. It's that simple.

Horns, no horns...bull, no bull... GE no GE it doesn't matter ... Friday Nights are going to ROCK this year! Back the boys no matter what! Go Blazers!

The new logo is ridiculous looking. I mean really, how hard was it to come up with something so idiotic looking? I wonder how much taxpayer money was used on the graphic artist? The snorting bull logo is the best, one that symbolizes our name, The Trailblazers, and it should remain our logo. I wish people would quite being Deiner psychopants!!!!

I am not sure about your question about shirts however to your point about making the new logo the same for the whole school, I think that's a great idea.
I'm not sure why the logo of the school will not change. However, I'm sure if you drum up support to get this new logo incorporated in the entire school, the administration would certainly listen. Perhaps that would be an effort worth starting this school year.

While I love this logo, I read this as only the football team will be using this logo and the administration will continue to use the old logo. Why? The old logo is just that....old. It is time to update the logo and be consistent across the school. Kuddos to Deiner and his staff for developing a logo that will appeal to the masses. As for the old logo, I have heard from many people (myself, my husband and my kids included) that we will not buy any merchandise with the old logo. I will, however, support the "football" logo....when do shirts go on sale???

If Bubba had thought about going to Texas this would not even be an issue. The logos were somewhat different but KUDOS go out to whomever designed the new one - Looks like another winning season with a new look and the same old QB --> Bubba "DaMan" Starling....

While I'm sure the team appreciates the well wishes you have bestowed upon them for the 2011 season, they are hard at work preparing for the 2010 season, which will be Bubba Starling's senior year playing for the Trailblazers.

I loved the old logo. I think we all will learn to love this one too. However, we did not use Texas' logo. There were signifigant differences between them regarding shape and color. It is amazing how a high school in Kansas has to bow down to a college in Texas for using a similair logo. Our old logo was harmless. I wonder how many high schools in Texas have the exact longhorn logo.

Bob, unless something has happened that I am unaware of, Bubba Starling will be GEHS' 2010 starting quarterback.

Good luck without Starling, Team might go 500, well see, good luck tho..

The logo for football looks great. We didn't need the Texas look anyway. This logo represents our school name, colors, and mascot. Horn Fever is alive and well. Let's play ball and dominate the Eastern Kansas League!
