County forms youth boxing program

The Johnson County Parks and Recreation District is forming a youth boxing team for ages 10 and up.
The team will start training Aug. 24 to compete in the Boxing Amateur Competitive program. The program will condition participants to compete in the ring and will emphasize the fundamentals of boxing.
The program is at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursdays at Punch Boxing+Fitness, 5435 Roberts St. in Shawnee. The cost is $120 for 12 one-hour sessions for Johnson County Residents and $165 for nonresidents.
