The race weekend has begun!

As the chill hits the fall morning, the sun rises to a not so long missing friend, wind! The past few days testing for both the NASCAR Nationwide and Sprint Cups teams has been pushed to high tests trying to dial their cars on the newly repaved Kansas Speedway.
On the Nationwide side, it has come down to a three man race with Elliot Sadler leading the points, Ricky Stenhouse Jr 13 points behind and Austin Dillion 29 back. Nationwide qualifying starts at 11:30 with race time at 3:00 for 200 laps.
As for the Sprint Cup drivers, Kasey Kahne, who is fifth in points, led qualifying with a new track record of 28.219 with a speed of 191.219 mph. Micheal Waltrip Racing showed why it's one of the top team in NASCAR with the ageless Mark Martin qualifying second and Emporia's and last weeks winner Clint Boywer in third.
In the points race Bowyer is 28 points behind Cup leader Brad Keselowski. Jimmie Johnson is second 7 points back with Denny Hamblin in third 15 back driving a back up car after a big wreck in practice earlier in the week.
Final practice for the Cup drivers will start at 10:00 just before the Nationwide qualifying.
