Lady Blazers Sweep Through Sub-State

The Gardner-Edgerton volleyball team earned its second consecutive trip to the 6A state tournament in dominating fashion. The Blazers didn't drop a single set in their two sub-state matches.
The Blazers made quick work of Lawrence in their first-round match, defeating the Lions 25-9 in the first set and then finishing them off with a 25-13 victory in the second set.
The championship match pitted the Blazers against another Sunflower League team: the Falcons of Olathe South. Once again, it only took two sets for Gardner-Edgerton to drop its opponent, 25-12 and 25-20.
The 2012 6A state tournament will be at the Kansas Expocentre in Topeka and the Blazers will start off against Blue Valley North in pool play at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, October 26th.
