Trailblazer Volleyball Finishes Third at KSHSAA State Tournament

For the second consecutive season, the Gardner-Edgerton volleyball team finished 3rd in the KSHSAA 6A State Championship tournament. The two seasons each mark the best finish in the history of Trailblazer volleyball.
In pool play on Friday, the Lady Blazers swept Blue Valley North, 25-17, 25-17. They followed that up with another sweep in their second match against Junction City, 28-26, 25-15. Washburn Rural topped the Trailblazers in three sets in their final pool play match, 25-17, 17-25, 25-19. The Blazers moved on to the semifinals as the second place team out of their pool.
Saturday morning's semifinal round against Eastern Kansas League rival Blue Valley saw the Lady Blazers swept, 25-20, 25-21. The loss sent Gardner-Edgerton to the consolation match against Olathe East. The Trailblazers finished off the Hawks in two sets, 25-16, 25-18.
