TRMS Track and Field Triangular

The Huskies opened their season Tuesday at home with a triangular against Paola and Spring Hill.  There were several strong performances on the day and a few new records set as well.  The boys’ teams both finished in second place and the girls in third. 

For the 7th grade girls Jasmine Walker brought home a first place finish in the pole vault, going 5’6”, Brandy Njogu finished 2nd in the hurdles, and the 4×100 relay team (Herter, Miller, Keimig, Ndambuki) was second. 

For the 8th grade girls Sadie Watkins won the pole vault (tie) and 800, Anna Tropansky also tied for 1st in the pole vault.  Second place finishers were Hailey Morris in the 400, the 4×200 relay team (Tropansky, Azwell, Billings, and teammate), and the sprint medley team (Bolton, Reddin, Morris, and Crain).  Third place finishers were Payton Outler in the 200, Emma Bolton in the 400, Elizabeth Guevara in the 3200, and Aubrey Crain in the pole vault.   Fourth place finishers were Aubrey Crain in the 400, and Payton Outler in the discus.

For the 7th grade boys Jack Lott won the 800 with a time of 2:36 and the 1600 with a time of 5:41, Ivan Jalabomy in the high jump going 4’8”, and Riley Pembleton in the shot throwing 28’2”.  Second place finishers were Isaac Hopkins in the 800, Brody Gilmore in the high jump, Luke Faulkner in the pole vault and the spring medley team (Barnett, Kueser, Roaden, and Misse).  Third place finishers were Drew Cassida in the hurdles and 100 meters, Nehemiah Demisse in the 200, Wrenner Brown in the 800 and pole vault and Gavin Hotle in the high jump. Fourth place finishers were Austin Smith in the 100, Alex Roaden in the 200, Zach Barnett in the 400, Wrenner Brown in the 1600, and Tyler Halbrook in the long jump.

In 8th grade boys, first place finishers were Jakob Renaud in the 100, Brett Harding in the 200, and the sprint medley team (Cox, Harding, Ramsey, and Renaud).  Second place finishers were Renaud in the 200 and 400, Will DeBolt in the 800, Owen Krouch in the hurdles, Dayton Williams in the high jump, and the 4×200 relay team (Robinson, Short, Krouch, and Cortner).  Third place finishers were Harding in the 100 and long jump, Nick Allen in the 400, Krouch in the 1600, DeBolt in the 3200, and Tate Allen in the pole vault.  Fourth place finishers were Ramsey in the long jump and Parker Cortner in the discus.

7th grade girls setting records:  Lily Keimig in the long jump, Angelica Gutierriez in the 1600

7th grade boys setting records: Ivan Jalabomy in the high jump, Luke Faulkner in pole vault (tie), Jack Lott in the 800 and 1600, and Zach Barnett in the 400

8th grade girls setting records:  Payton Outler in the discus, Lizzie Bocanegra in the 1600, and Hailey Morris in the 400
