City Election Filings Trigger Primary


At the time of the filing deadline of June 1 for city and school board elections, seven candidates have presented themselves for the election to two open seats on the Gardner City Council.  Pursuant to K.S.A. 25-2108a, a Primary Election will be held on August 1, 2017.  Voters will be asked to select up to two candidates in the Primary.  The top four vote earners will proceed to the General Election on November 7.

The city council candidates are as follows:

Shirley Baker Harley

Jonathan T. Pelkey

Scott Smith

The other filings triggered no primary, so they will be determined in the General Election on November 7.  The races are:
